The Parsha of the week- Noach
As we approach the Shabbat when we read the Torah portion of Noach, we would like to acquaint the reader with some of the Rebbe’s talks, which are relevant to what’s currently going on in the world and what we can learn from this week’s Torah reading in this regard.

Regarding G-d’s command: “You and your entire household should go into the ark.”
A Jew has to be enveloped in the words of Torah and prayer (in Hebrew, the word “tevah” has a dual meaning; ark and word). Consequently, he and his family are protected (“You and your family, your wife and your sons’ wives”).
“…Moreover, not only does the “ark” protect him and his family, in addition, as in Noach’s ark, where all types of life were brought in, and all edible foods (brought in), i.e. from the entire world … Not only does the world not influence him…. On the contrary, through his divine service… he influences the entire world, the world’s existence, to the point where the world reaches a more sublime level – “…He saw a new world”.

The 6th of Cheshvan marks the conclusion of the pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
This year the 6th of Cheshvan occurs on Shabat. In regards to this most auspicious date and its connection to Parshat Noach, let’s refer to the following talk:
“…Simply speaking, when a Jew knows there was a moment in the month of Tishrei not utilized as should be, and thinks there’s no way to make up for it, we should tell him that he has the opportunity to make up for it on the 6th of Cheshvan, which is regarded as the conclusion of the pilgrimage to Jerusalem.”

The 7th of Marcheshvan – First request for rain in the Land of Israel
The Rebbe, in this fabulous sicha, emphasizes love of a fellow Jew because he/she is Jewish, as well as Jewish unity. The entire Jewish nation waits until the last Jew returns from pilgrimage to Jerusalem to his home on the banks of the Euphrates River, regardless of the vital importance and need for rain.
“…Still, even under such circumstances, Jewish unity is of primary importance, as is evident in the evening prayer of the seventh of Cheshvan. The entire Jewish nation is concerned for the welfare of the “last Jew” that the rain shouldn’t stop him along the way, to the extent that we delay our request for rain 15 days after the holidays!”

Is being photographed in front of a pyramid more important than Jewish lives?
Signing a peace agreement has no worth when the other side doesn’t follow through with their obligations. There is no truth to the claim, “Nothing can be done”. Before the reader is a response to all of the empty claims that were heard in the past, and to everyone’s surprise the same mistakes are being repeated in these most difficult times.

“They are presently informing the public that they made a most serious mistake when signing the “peace agreement”, because they saw they didn’t receive anything in exchange for what they gave to the Arabs. However, they are trying not to really talk about it, reasoning they were trapped into a situation that’s impossible to change, and consequently we are obliged to honor the agreement.”

There are those who are adament about giving up portions of the Land of Israel to the Arabs
As we approach the Shabbat when we read the Torah portion of Noach, we would like to acquaint the reader with some of the Rebbe’s talks, which are relevant to what’s currently going on in the world and what we can learn from this week’s Torah reading in this regard.
There are those who are adamant about giving up portions of Israel to the non-Jews.
So what would you prefer? Would you rather earn $100 and right after pay $120 to the doctor, or not to earn a penny and not go to the doctor? Before you is an excerpt from one of the Rebbe’s talks regarding “profit” and loss when not doing precisely as the Rebbe said.
“As is well known, the non-Jews were surprised when they knew that these Jews agreed to give back everything (oil, land, etc.) They said, paraphrasing, that they would never in their right minds believe that the Jews would give back everything, and not getting a thing in return!”
