Chanukah - a little bit of light pushes away a lot of darkness
"...To thank and to praise Your great name for Your miracles, for Your wonders, and for Your salvation."
The holiday of Chanukah symbolizes the great victory of light over darkness, i.e. the victory of the Jewish nation and its spirit over those who wanted to separate it from the Torah and its precepts.
The most important precept of Chanukah is the actual lighting of the menorah, which exemplifies the magnitute of the tremendous miracle wrought.
Chassidut Chabad elaborates on the inner and deeper meaning of Chanukah as well as what we can learn to do in our daily divine service.
Shortly, the viewer will be able to see a few brief segments from talks the Lubavitcher Rebbe gave on the matter.

Illumination in the performance of precepts and Torah study
When one is happy while disseminating theTorah's teachings, which includes the revealed parts as well as the esoteric aspects of the Torah, or just being happy as a rule, additional light is brought into the world.
"...If a little light pushes away a lot of darkness (light is referred to as holiness, whereas darkness is the opposite), then certainly when one increases in his/her illumination of the world, not only is the darkness pushed away, it becomes null and void to the extent that not even a residue remains. On the contrary, "the darkness is transformed and becomes light".

Is Chanukah a time for joy or a time for praising and thanking G-d
The Lubavitcher Rebbe concludes from a long dissertation given by the Rambam that the holiday of Chanukah is multi - faceted, where each detail plays an important role in adding to the joy of Chanukah.
"...That is to say, that even if there would not have been the miracle involving the vial of oil, the sages would have established this day of victory as a joyful holiday. When the sages in the Talmud asked, "What's Chanukah?" and the answer given was centered around the vial of oil, we can say that the discovery of the vial is a reason for praise and thanks to G-d. The fact that Chanukah was declared as a joyful holiday is due to the miracle that occurred to the oil itself."
